Rachel joined the Cyndari Lab in 2024 as a Summer Research Fellow at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Her project investigated how Borrelia Burgdorferi interacts with the synovial membrane in an ex vivo model of Lyme Arthritis.

Rachel graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Physical Chemistry. She worked as an EMT for 4 years in the Twin Cities before moving to Iowa to attend medical school at the University of Iowa. She is now a second-year medical student at Carver College of Medicine.
