Tyler is from small-town Lawton, IA and is a senior undergrad aiming for his Bachelors of Science in Genetics. He's a highly achieving student, having been Valedictorian in high school and been on the Dean's List consistently. Previously, he worked with the University of Iowa's Department of Biology and the Molecular Otolaryngology and Renal Laboratories. He also works with University Honors as a Peer Mentor, works as a Patient Care Tech with the Neuroscience Unit in the University Hospital, and serves the Department of Biology and its students as a part of the Biological Interests Organization. Tyler plans to take the MCAT and attend medical school.
